MEALS ON WHEELS
Home Delivered Meals!
Meals On Wheels help seniors maintain good health and remain in their own homes, thus helping prevent the need for premature nursing home care or assisted living. The program provides hot nutritious meals for seniors age 60 or older (and their spouse regardless of age) who are home-bound and/or unable to prepare their own meals.
Menus and meal selections are prepared by a licensed, registered dietician to ensure that meals are healthy and nutritious. Meals are available for individuals with special dietary needs, such as diabetics, low salt, and low fat/low cholesterol diets
Volunteers personally greet and get to know the seniors when they deliver the fresh hot meals. Seniors enjoy the friendly interaction. Family members gain peace of mind from knowing that someone is checking on their loved one. If the delivery volunteer notices anything of concern, the dining site manager can notify family members.
The hot nutritious meals are typically delivered daily Monday through Friday. Frozen meals are available for weekends and holidays. The dining site managers are always available to work with the senior to schedule meals and payment at the senior’s convenience.
Suggested minimum donation for each meal is $6.00, but no senior will be denied service because of inability to pay. Home delivered meals are currently available in the Hubbard County cities of Park Rapids and Nevis.
A NAPIS form* is required. For more information and to order meals, contact the appropriate dining site manager at one of the following telephone numbers:
